I’m Not Dead – Just Sleeping

Okay, I guess anyone who follows this blog with any sort of regularity could be forgiven for thinking that maybe I’ve died or something, given the lack of posts in the last few months. Well, the good news is I’m still around; I just haven’t had anything to say, nor the motivation to say it.

The truth is I’ve kind of had my life stolen by a computer game, Elite: Dangerous. It’s a modern reboot/remake of an old (1984) game, and one that was a bit instrumental in making me the geek-girl I am today. And because I find the new version basically as addictive and as engrossing as the original, I’ve spent most of the last two months playing that in my spare time, and pretty much given up on anything else that I was working on. I offer no apologies.

Now, what does this mean for the future, and more importantly, for my writing? Well, the reason I’m here today writing these words is because I’ve realised that there is actually more to life than computer games, so I’ve been spending the last few hours working on my bookkeeping course (yes, I’m still doing that), and will be spending a few hours later today and tomorrow catching up with where I’d gotten to with the Jacob Moon project. My plan (assuming I don’t get distracted by the wonders of Elite once more) is to show a little discipline and actually get some more writing done. I’m not saying this is what will definitely happen, but at least I can try.

Feel free to berate or encourage me in the comments section, as is your wont. In the meantime, here’s a gallery of screenshots from my time as a space pilot.
