British Line Infantry c. 1814 - Line Formation

1st Battalion, 19th (First Yorkshire, North Riding) regiment of Foot, Napoleonic British Line Infantry in Square Formation – 15mm miniatures from Essex Miniatures.

Here we have the 1st Battalion, 19th Regiment of Foot in Square formation. An infantry square was generally used when the battalion was in danger of being charged by enemy cavaly. It allowed the battalion to fire in all directions.
