Cover Reveal : The Last Jager
The last year has been a bit on the hectic side for me, what with one thing or another, so it’s nice to be able to come back here and share some exciting news with you all. And what news it is, too. See, I have a book coming out.
Yep, that’s right, The Last Jager is getting an official and real release.
For those who don’t know, The Last Jager is a sci-fi novella, and is the first release in what will hopefully be an ongoing series of loosely connected novels, novellas and short stories set in my Fractured Republic setting. Technically it’s the second entry in the series, with the first being A Way Out in the Wizard’s Tower Press anthology, Fight Like a Girl, volume 2.
Anyway, I digress. What I’m trying to say is I have a book coming out, and here’s the cover.

Isn’t that pretty? That’s the full wraparound cover for the print edition, and I am so very happy with it.
The artwork was put together by Jack Taylor, and started with me asking him if he could do something along the lines of early Ralph McQuarrie. Given that we’re both first generation Star Wars fans he immediately knew what I was asking, and this is what he came up with. Personally, I think it captures the mood of the novella really well without giving away too much of the story. I know I’ve said it already, but it is sooooo pretty.

I’ll be posting an interview I did with Jack at some point over the next week or two, but if any of you would like to see more of his work you can pop along to his Instagram.
Meanwhile, the book itself gets its official release in both physical and digital formats on 30 April, but is available for pre-order now from the usual places. And if you order the print edition directly from my printers you can get it for roughly 20% off.
