It’s been a long while since I posted anything on here other than my monthly reading lists, though regular (or even occasional) visitors to this and my many former blogs won’t be all that surprised by this state of affairs. For those of you who are still keeping tabs on what I’m up to I thought I’d better stick my head up above the parapet and give a little update.
Once again I’ve amassed a goodly number of books read this month, with eight of the nineteen listed being novella length. I have to admit that almost all of my reading this month is from J. A. Konrath (and his collaborators), and I have enjoyed the experience of glutting on so many thrillers, though I’ve not been completely single-minded in my reading choices. Honest.
I think I’ve managed to set a personal record this month for how many books I’ve read, with fifteen titles on the list. Admittedly, six of those titles were short (novella length), and one was a graphic novel, but even so, I’m quite surprised by just how much reading I’ve managed to get done. A lot of this will be down to the fact that the company I work for has recently moved premises and instead of a ten minute walk to and from work each day I now have a one-and-a-half hour bus journey each way, so more reading time.
So I’ve managed to read through a decent number of books this month, with nine titles under my belt this time, and once again I’ve enjoyed every single one of them.
So anyway, I’ve been doing a lot of the stuff that a writer’s supposed to do just recently, and I have to admit I feel good about it. Mostly I’ve been working on my current project, Hunter’s Moon, laying down foundations and framework, and building up the primary structure of the story. It’s been fun, and I’m looking forward to getting some feedback on it when I finally post it to Scribophile. I decided to get the whole first draft finished before I post anything more, so if you’re on Scrib and waiting for the next installment please accept my apologies for the delay. Hopefully the end result will be worth it.
So it’s been another average month in terms of reading, with only five books on the list. That said, I have been writing more, slowly but steadily. Anyway, here’s the list for March.
